One of my most favorite sandbox games to play. You mine, collect stuff, craft items from that stuff to make more stuff to be able to explore more places to find more stuff, and so on and so forth. You can also build whatever structures you want with the many blocks and other placeable items in the game, such as furniture! There’s countless things you can do with in this 2D pixelated platforming adventure!
It’s was the first sandbox game I’ve ever played, and the sole reason why I love sandbox games. I’ll admit that I’ve put more than 2000+ hours into this game, not including the times I left this game open to come back later to start where I left off.

I'm unfamiliar with Terraria, but I've heard of it.

It’s one of those games that can suck you into playing for hours and hours if you really enjoy it. The game focuses on mining and exploring to collect materials to make items to survive, build structures (such as a base), and to progress through the game. You can create characters and randomly generated worlds to explore in, and you can manipulate the terrain of the world to however you want with your tools, and you can build pretty much whatever structures you want too.
