A tiny suggestion: If you have access to the CSS file for this forum, I recommend adding 'background-size:contain;' (without quotes) in the body tag. It won't make a difference for you, but for me it shows the backgrounds the way you intended

background-attachment:fixed;   is the culprit, that is the only thing that needs to be disabled.
